The topic of the October meeting 

Candidate Night:  It is election time and tonight WPOA is proud to be hosting candidate night. All candidates will be responding to questions that were given to them in the invitation letter.   
 

PLEASE NOTE THE START TIME IS 6:30PM SHARP!!! PLEASE COME EARLY!!!  
 

The first part of the meeting will have the candidates for council responding to the questions from 6:30 TO 7:45 followed by the candidates for Mayor responding to the questions from 7:45 to 9:00  
We are excited to have attorney Morris (Moe) Bergman as our moderator for the evening. Let's give him a warm welcome!!!  
Below are the questions that each candidate will be responding to: 
 

Councilor Candidates  
 

1. Recently the city discussed enacting an ordinance that will hold property owners responsible for the conduct of not only the occupying tenants but also anyone who is visiting that tenant.  This liability may include financial penalties imposed on the property owner. What is your position on this proposed ordinance and why?  How would you vote on it?
2. Please explain what you will do or propose to do to help mulit-income property owners improve the neighborhoods where their properties are located? Specifically we are interested in safety (police presence), sidewalk and pothole improvement, rubbish removal from abandoned properties, etc.

Mayor Candidates 

1. What is one idea you have to substantially cut the budget in our city without     affecting core services?
2. What is your position on the single tax vs dual tax rate in the city?
3. How do you propose to pay for the 2.5 million dollar mega swimming pool and the ice skating rink when we are in the midst of more looming personnel cuts? How do you justify this to the tax-paying citizens of this city?
